In june 2008 an suicide bomber drove his truck in to the gates of the prison in Kandahar city.
Nearly all the prisoners escaped including a reported 400 convicted Taleban.
Commanders at the top were expecting all hell to break loose with a reported 1500 insurgents ready to descend on the city.
3 PARA were called upon to fly in and assist the ANP with security in the city.
I got to go with them.
