Afghan - worrying task

While I was in Afghan, a security check was carried out on the main road through southern Afghanistan.
This was road was officially Highway 1 but was more commonly referred to as the Highway of Death.
A lot of mine strikes occur on this road and we were to travel the full length of it from Zabul to Nimroz.
